SPONSORING ORGANIZATIONS
We are seeking companies, foundations, and organizations committed to social responsibility and innovation in global health to join our mission and help sustain the work of our NGO.
Thanks to the support of donors, we are able to offer our incubators at cost exclusively to social organizations working in highly vulnerable contexts. Without these solidarity-based partnerships, this model would not be possible.
Your support will allow us to continue developing and improving our programs, cover the organization’s operational expenses, and ensure that each incubator reaches where it is most needed.

PARTNERS
Do you work for an NGO? Are you involved in international cooperation projects? Do you collaborate with healthcare centers or communities living in extreme poverty?

We aim to engage more and more committed NGOs and organizations that can help us identify high-need areas, facilitate incubator distribution, and ensure their proper use.
And if you have already identified a location in need of an incubator, please fill out the request form. Your support could be key to expanding the reach of this project and saving more lives.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What problem are we addressing?
Each year, 1.5 million premature babies die because they lack access to an incubator. In many developing countries, the high cost of commercial incubators (which can reach €35,000) makes them unavailable, leaving newborns in cardboard boxes or wrapped in foil with a radiator to survive. In response to this crisis, we developed a low-cost, open-source incubator.
What does it mean that our incubator is open-source?
Our goal is to save as many lives as possible. That's why we are sharing the technology we’ve developed completely free of charge on our website. Anyone can download the blueprints, technical sheet, and more to build their own incubator.
How much does an IncuNest incubator cost?
While a neonatal incubator on the market can cost up to €35,000, we’ve reduced the real production cost to just €1,500. Thanks to the support of volunteers and donations from companies and nonprofit organizations, we offer our incubators to NGOs at the material cost of only €350 per unit. This solidarity-based model allows us to bring vital technology to those who need it most, without cost being a barrier.
Where are the incubators built?
Since 2020, Medical Open World has expanded its production capacity through a partnership with the Salesians, who help manufacture the incubators in their vocational training centers. The largest facility is in Pamplona, but they are produced in 10 Salesian centers across Spain.
Who buys the incubators?
Most of our incubators are purchased by health centers or NGOs working in extreme poverty settings. We ask them to cover only the cost of materials. These NGOs are our key partners, helping ensure the proper care and functioning of the incubators. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are able to charge them just €350, and when we confirm that an NGO or hospital needs financial assistance, we provide the incubators for free.
How do the incubators reach their destination?
Ideally, a volunteer should be able to carry the incubator from Spain or elsewhere in Europe. We ship the incubator from Pamplona by postal mail to the volunteer, who then takes it to the final destination.
Can I buy an incubator for my country or for a mission trip?
To request an incubator, a specific need must first be identified in the destination location. The request must be submitted by the health center or organization responsible for using and maintaining the incubator. After receiving the application form, we will provide the necessary information to proceed. The evaluation will consider actual need, technical conditions, transport feasibility, costs, donation criteria, and delivery timelines to ensure effective and sustainable implementation.
What have we achieved so far, and what is our goal?
In the past 5 years, we have installed 220 incubators in 30 countries, saving over 4,000 lives. However, our goal is much more ambitious. We want to multiply our impact by 100 and ensure that no premature baby dies due to lack of access to an incubator.
